Dear Lauren,
I would like to be a part of the security research at Trend Micro, Specifically to work as a purple-team researcher discovering CVEs and patching them.
I come from a software engineering background where I use the scripting and function programming languages on the daily aswell as *NIX development environments to write software. I have aquired a breadth of knowledge in operating systems and networking fundamentals, aswell as developed my own compilers and transpilers for club-related workshops.
My main passion has always been in low-level programming with one of my main inspirations for software development coming from the ROM-hacking and DOS emulation forums I would browse when I was young. What drives me to software-security is that it is not a black-box. With the right tools and the patience to debug, anything can be reverse engineered.
Ive been a part of the security community for a year now, and during that time I have participated in 15+ CTFs, reverse engineered software with OA labs and have analyzed 20+ malware strains.
I am also currently studying for my CCNA, and hope to aquire the certification at the end of March.
I’d love to meet and schedule some time to talk to you and your team further. Below I have attached my resume for further details about my skills and my portfolio for a look into my personal projects.
Many thanks,
David
