• File has .sh file extension
  • All bash scripts must start with the shebang: #!/bin/sh to run the bash shell
  • scripts are ran like:
    • sh thefile.sh
    • ./thefile.sh if the sh file has chmod a+x permissions
  • SYNTAX MATTERS
