Were going to finally do this side-quest.

The service we will use is stickermule. Cricut is too expensive

https://www.stickermule.com/products/sticker-sheets

lucky for us, they have a deal today.

look at that! 10 sheets for 33 dollars. That means 1 sheet is 3.3 dollars. And each sheet can have ~(3*9) = ~27 stickers on them. That is, if we are conservative.

We can download a template. I will download the 4inch by 6inch one to be safe.https://www.stickermule.com/template/sticker-sheets

Photoshop inches

Ok lets edit the template in photoshop.

Firstly, open the ruler using CTRL+R

right click the top segment where the ruler is and select inches.

ok youre good.

Make sure you have this properties tab open as well.

it shows the size of each layer. The template tells us that every layer must have a minimum size of 1inch by 1inch.

We also need each sticker to be spaced out atleast a quarter of an inch apart.

Photoshop distance between layers

https://graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/17776/determine-distance-between-two-layers-in-photoshop

to measure, first open the measuring menu.

its called measurement log.

Then select the ruler tool from the eyedropper alternate versions

then, change your measurement scale in image > Analysis > Set Measurement scale > Custom

A pixel is 0.010417 inches

ok, lastly, measure the distance between your layers.

its got a length of 1 inch. A bit too big of a gap. I garner 0.3 inches gap would be safe. Il just scoot it over then.

ok cool.

Sticker outline

ok so I have pretty much all the designs I wanted. I now need to give them that classic sticker outline. You know, that white background thats like a tenth of an inch long that all stickers have.

This is how its done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igL2oIGhmCw

right click the layer and select Blending Options

go to enable stroke. Then modify the size, position and color accordingly. Usually they are about a 10th of an inch long. So in pixels, that would be 9.6 pixels. We cant have decimal so make it 10 pixels.

now you may see there is some bleeding into the image. We will have to manually erase that.

Once you have your modifications just rasterize the layer style

now you can manually erase

I did a lot of square selection deletion for this because the shape is pretty much a square with beveled edges.

ok not too bad, actually it is quite bad. Lets redo this sticker.

A little bit more cleaner, again its tough for this one since the shading is all weird on the edges.

For ‘VSCode’ I am considering making a copy of the layer and stroking that layer.

so this is my white layer.

again there are some defects, just erase it with selection

clean.

Now, I did the same for the rest. I did another stroke with linewidth 20, and then cleaned up a bit.

Kiss cut marks

every image also has their own little outline too. its a 1 px outline. The color I picked was 89a596 since that is the color they give for the example outline, though I don’t think it matters too much.

this is the final photoshop look like:

I modified it a bit.

Save the photoshop file. Just give them the photoshop file. They will have an easier time configuring the print.
