Test points are a method of determining how to graph an oblique asymptote. They are used during the stage where you already have the V.A and O.A, and you are looking to how to graph the lines out. You feed test values that are smaller or bigger than your V.A, then plot them into your formula, then test to see which O.A it fits inside.
Example
For example, if we had an equation like: And we have found the O.A and V.A, and it looks like such: Then, we have 4 different possible curves the line can go. like: To know which curve it is, try some test points. Firstly, draw a test point at the left of the V.A, then another at the right of the V.A.
Lets try x=0. Thats where it is! So, we know this curve exists, because it needs to touch this point
