allows you to have transparent windows I thought there would be a transparency/opacity patch for dwm, but it seems there is none. Instead they use a widely used package called picom(formerly compton). It adjusts the transparency of terminal emulators, a whole lot of them too. st has support for it
then just run picom
if you want to configure picom, then go to the /etc/xdg directory and edit picom.conf
