A flaw in Pascal’s Wager that uses the fact that we assume each option:
- God exists
- God does not exist to have a weighting of 0.5
This weighting is arbitrary, and not providing any effect in the Expected Utility for the benefit of god since anything times infinity is infinity.
This can be flipped on its head to say that every action you take is equally good. The life you lead has NO impact as to the benefit you gain from believing in god:
- If you live a life that renounces all things godly, having a weighting of 0.0000001, this when multiplied by infinity is still infinity
